On the plus side, they made fruit and coffee at the bar. Location was fine — five minutes to the Pantheon and ten to the Trevi Fountain. The alley felt scary in the evenings, and the room windows faced a shared courtyard, so there was no view.”

On request, as promised, we moved the next day to a courtyard-facing room — it was quiet there and the birds sang in the morning.”
